In Search of a Legislative Sponsor
And a Holiday Miracle

We have sent a letter to each of the 120 legislators in Sacramento asking them to sponsor a ferret legalization bill for next year’s session.  Enclosed with each letter was our recent white paper on ferret legalization.

In addition – we have printed an open letter to Governor Schwarzenegger asking him to have a heart and legalize ferrets, just as they are legal in every other state (except Hawaii).  We are hoping for a Holiday Miracle.  Please print out this letter, even if you are not in California, sign it and send it to Governor Schwarzenegger.

To be successful, a lot of people are going to have to write a lot of letters.  If you are in California please ask your state assembly member and state senator sponsor a ferret legalization bill.  You can find out who your representative are at this handy website:  http://192.234.213.69/amapsearch/framepage.asp

California Ferret Owners Publish a White Paper on Ferret Legalization

California ferret owners published a White Paper, also known as a position paper on ferret legalization.  This is our statement to the word – we want ferrets legal and we provided the arguments to back it up.

Our white paper goes into detail about the history of California’s ferret ban, why the ban is flawed, unfair and not working, and what we want as California ferret owners – we want our pets recognized as domestic and some sort of legal status.
